Residential Solar System

Solar systems are the foundation of any home renewable energy system.

By generating clean electricity directly from your roof, they allow you to take control of your energy use and reduce reliance on the grid. Whether you’re looking to cut household bills, protect yourself against rising costs, or take a more sustainable path, solar is a proven, long-term solution.

At Eco Power Innovations, we install only the most efficient, reliable panels and tailor every system to your home. Combined with our expert installation and ongoing monitoring, you’ll have confidence that your investment is delivering maximum performance for years to come.

How do residential solar systems work?

The solar cells in each panel absorb sunlight and create direct current (DC) electricity. An inverter then converts this into alternating current (AC) — the type of electricity your home runs on.

All of our solar PV systems are designed using Tier 1 solar panels, MCS-certified roof mounting systems, bird protection, and come complete with a high-performance inverter as standard. Customers can also choose to enhance their system with optional battery storage and an immersion controller (if applicable) for maximised energy efficiency.

Immersion Controller (optional):

An immersion controller diverts surplus solar energy to your hot water tank instead of sending it back to the grid.

What type of solar systems do we install?

We only install monocrystalline panels because they are the most efficient, durable, and space-saving option available. With their sleek black finish, they look smart on any roof. Panels can either be mounted on rails (on-roof) or integrated directly into the roof (in-roof) for a more seamless design.

What are the benefits of residential solar systems?

  • Lower your electricity bills

  • Reduce your carbon footprint

  • Gain energy independence

  • Store power day and night when combined with battery storage

How it works

How much do residential solar systems cost?

The cost depends on system size, roof type, and whether you add battery storage. As a guide, a typical residential system (without storage) starts from around £5,000. Every quote we provide is tailored to your home and energy needs.

FAQs

How long do solar systems typically last?+

Most solar systems come with a 25 – 30 year warranty, guaranteeing to still be producing over 80% of their original output, and expected to operate well beyond that. While efficiency may slightly reduce over time, with regular maintenance, they can keep generating clean, renewable energy for decades.

How much will I save by installing a solar system?+

Savings depend on your energy usage, the size of your system, and whether you add battery storage. On average, homeowners can reduce their electricity bills, and with a well sized system, many see a full return on investment in 7 – 10 years. Installing solar also protects you against rising energy costs and increases your energy independence.

Do solar systems work on cloudy days?+

Yes! Solar systems still generate electricity on cloudy or overcast days, though their output is lower than on bright, sunny days. Even in less-than-ideal weather, they can contribute to reducing your energy bills and storing power in a battery if you have one installed.

Can a solar systems work at night?+

No, solar systems need daylight to generate electricity, so they don’t produce power at night. However, if your system includes a battery, any excess energy generated during the day can be stored and used at night, giving you power even when the sun isn’t shining.

How do I maintain my solar system?+

Solar systems require very little maintenance. It’s a good idea to keep them clean and free from debris and check occasionally for any visible damage. All our systems are remotely monitored via an app, so any performance issues can be identified quickly.

What grants are available for solar systems?+

Grant availability varies depending on your location and circumstances. Schemes like the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) pay you for excess electricity exported to the grid, and solar PV and battery storage are 0% VAT. Some local authorities and organisations may also offer additional funding or incentives for renewable energy. We can guide you through the options to help make your solar installation more affordable.
